At Littleham C of E Primary School, we believe that greatness grows from small beginnings. We are committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and flourish.
We recognise that some children may face additional barriers to learning and achievement. Pupil Premium funding is additional government funding provided to schools to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and help reduce the attainment gap between them and their peers.
At Littleham, we use this funding carefully and strategically to identify and remove barriers to learning, raise aspirations and ensure that all children can access the opportunities and experiences they need to succeed.
Our approach
Our Pupil Premium strategy is rooted in our school vision and our three core values:
Aspiration: Developing a love of learning, raising expectations and helping children believe in what they can achieve.
Belonging: Ensuring every child feels valued, included and part of our school community, with access to the support they need to thrive.
Compassion: Recognising individual circumstances, responding to need and providing nurturing support so that every child can flourish.
We recognise that barriers to learning are not always the same for every child. Our approach is therefore responsive and carefully tailored to the needs of our pupils.
How we use Pupil Premium funding
Our funding supports a range of provision, including:
High-quality teaching and targeted support to address gaps in learning.
Early identification of additional needs and timely intervention.
Pastoral care and emotional wellbeing support.
Enrichment opportunities, including educational visits, clubs and wider experiences.
Developing reading, language and communication skills.
Supporting attendance, engagement and positive relationships with school.
Removing practical barriers that may prevent children from fully participating in school life.
We take a whole-school approach to improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. We understand that high-quality teaching, strong relationships and a nurturing environment are central to ensuring every child succeeds.
Our commitment
We regularly monitor the impact of our Pupil Premium spending to ensure that funding is making a meaningful difference to children's experiences, progress and outcomes.
At Littleham, we want every child to feel that they belong, that their voice matters and that their future is full of possibility. We are ambitious for all our children and work hard to ensure that their starting points do not determine their destinations.
Together, we are growing greatness.
